Simone Abel is Founder and Principal of lab403, a freelance web design and development service based in Toronto. Simone weaves together over 6 years experience in web with prior education and experience in teaching, writing, and research to create simple, sophisticated, standards-based websites for her customers. lab403 is Principal-driven and capable of collaborating with your in-house staff or developer. If additional assistance is required, we will call upon one of our experienced specialists to fill the role. That means that we can always provide the right mix of skills and experience for your project.

APPROACH

Our three-stage process is outlined below. We apply these principles to every project, both large and small.

1. Planning

Client discovery meetings
Understanding the business goals of the project
Defining a creative and technical approach to the project
Performing a needs analysis for the project: audience, goals/needs, measuring success
Developing a Project Plan: detailed proposal, timeline, estimated pricing for the work involved
Signing off on final contract terms

2. Building

Defining the user experience
Constructing the information architecture and functional designs
Creating content and/or editing provided content
Development of creative design
Technical implementation
Ongoing testing and QA

3. Thinking Long-Term

Deploy and deliver final, fully tested product to client
Conduct post-project review with client
Work on future development/incorporating subsequent phases, components
Implementing an online marketing strategy and/or track web traffic (help others find you online; find out who's looking!)
Provide on-going maintenance and content management
